In case some settings are messed up and you want to reset Unity and Compiz to their default settings, here's a new way of doing this that works with Ubuntu 14.04 I am having difficulty showing all the hidden startup applications. Now if the worst happens and you damage your OS bad you can always boot the PC from the USB stick and clone your system back to the PC.
