Microsoft gives me bash. Introduced in Windows Vista they provide additional level of security by giving all processes an integrity level, and access to registry/files can be denied/granted based on this integrity level. It took me a while to recall the Dos commands to "navigate" to my favorites folder but when I finally did, this fix worked like a charm.

I have tried reinstalling IE7 updating it etc but nothing works. Reportedly, this problem occurs as Internet Explorer in Windows Vista and Windows 7 runs under Protected mode (low integrity level) by default, and therefore will only be able to modify objects
